Internationaler Volkssportverband (IVV)

Volkssporting began in Germany in 1987 as an alternative to increasing competitive running events. The Internationaler Volkssportverband (IVV) believes everyone should be encouraged to exercise, regardless of whether they go home with a ribbon or a gold medal. Today over 20 countries are members of the IVV. For more information visit www.ivv-web.org/english.

Canadian Volkssport Federation (CVF)

In Canada, CVF/FCV administers the IVV program. It was formed in 1968 and is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers, aided by provincial organizations and member clubs that organize the Volkssport events nation-wide. CVF’s goal is to promote good healthy and physical fitness by encouraging all people to enjoy outdoor exercise in pleasant stress-free settings. CVF/FCV presently has 44 member clubs.
